It was written by a woman but is not focused on female readers whatsoever. Go for it. If you are serious about study of the scriptures, this is for you.

My son (17) and Husband both read this book and loved it. I think it is written for male or female and can be enjoyed by both.

No, it is not just for females. It is a great resource tool for all, and if you have never studied the Bible, it takes you through step by step. You won't regret it if that is the kind of help you are looking for.
