Absolutely, need the teachers book! Directions, questions on the stories, and detail instructions not in the student workbook are found there. Also, there are suggestions for enrichment activities, field trips, and craft related activities. I could not imagine using the program without the teacher's book.

The Teacher's Manual is required to teach this curriculum. It cannot be completed with the Student Text alone.

The Student Activity Book is optional but you will need a notebook to keep your student's work. Also, you will have to either work with your student one on one for all the lessons, or fold back the answer section and allow him/her to use your book. Honestly, the Student Activity Book is a big convenience.
