Keep skills within the context of literature, giving children a better understanding of how these concepts actually work, and reinforcing their correct usage. 36 weekly lessons are divided into daily plans within 11 sections; thirteen weeks on "everyday words", six weeks on poetry, three weeks on Star of Light by Patricia St. John, three weeks on Short Stories, four weeks on Adam and His Kin by Ruth Beechick, three weeks on Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare; and a four-week research unit. A summary and discussion questions & activities are included for the book studies. Answers are provided in the margins. 240 pages, softcover. 7th Grade.
