Questions & Answers for Thomas Nelson Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back

Question

I was wondering if the coming war that Todd thinks is Armageddon happens during his normal lifetime or long afterward?

It wasn't clear to me if Colton was seeing this from heaven (perhaps after the rapture) during Todd's lifetime?? or if it occurs a long long time in the future after Todd has been in heaven for a long time??

I got the impression that it happened during Todd's lifetime, so if that is the case, it would be in the lifetimes of 40 year olds.....but that is just my opinion. Makes us think, doesn't it?

I suppose it could go either way, but I felt like it was in the future after Todd was already in heaven.

Since the Bible tells us we are now engaged in spiritual warfare, and calls the Word of God a Sword, I don't think this is a reference to Armageddon at all but to the fact that Todd was a pastor, fighting a very real spiritual warfare now. There is no reason to think this has anything to do with Armageddon and a careful study of prophecy would show that it can not be at this time Armageddon - but the saints will come back with Christ when he comes back to fight the battle of the ages at Armageddon in which case Todd and all other saints will indeed be equipped to fight...

I was wondering the same thing! I had concluded that the rapture happened in Todd's lifetime because I figured that if he had died and gone to heaven before Jesus came again, that Colton would have said something about him being there... instead he just says that he saw him fighting in the battle. Then my husband added another little note there saying that there is a possibility that it is even sooner because the women and children couldn't fight and Colton was considered a child so that means that if he is 10-12 now it would be before he is 18-20 since he is a child... granted this one is not quite as solid, but an interesting thought none-the-less. Either way, it made me excited that more than likely Jesus will come in my lifetime!!! :D

It is the final war that is fought after the Rapture when Jesus comes back and sends Satan and the Anti-Christ into the depths of Hell. Some saints will be chosen to fight in the final war on earth between Good (God) and Evil (Satan & the Anti-Christ)

answer 7
The war could be Armageddon but I wonder if this is the
final battle that will cast the devil out of Heaven since he
is the prince of power of the air. On the other hand, could
it be the war of Ezekiel 38: against Israel. Just my thoughts
here. Something to think about.

The book does not answer this. Either way is possible. I just found it interesting that it is the men who will fight while the women and children watch. Also, it's great that Jesus finds them worthy to fight along side him. Praise God, Jesus wins!

I was thinking it was after all believers were in Heaven and the unbelievers are cast into hell. The demons and Satan don't live in heaven but roam the earth and also go to the 2nd heavens but not the throne room! They are blocked from going there so perhaps it is in the second heaven where the demons will be bumped from there and Jesus Christ throws Satan into hell.

answer 10
Sine time as we know it is irrelevant in Heaven, Colton simply doesn't know when events occurred or will occur. Also, no one except God Himself knows when Armageddon will happen or when Jesus will return after Armageddon. Human time is finite and known, but divine time is known only to God the Creator. Since he is human, Colton has no way of knowing when Todd will go to Heaven.

Question

Would this book be good for a rebellious teen grieving the death of her baby?

My 18-year-old niece is grieving the loss of her 2-year-old daughter. The baby was sickly from day 1 and died of liver transplant complications. My niece is not saved.

Oh yes, I highly recommend you get this book to your niece. After she reads it, be ready to share how she can also go to Heaven to see her baby again - only through believing on Jesus who died for her sins.

Definately. This girl needs to understand that her baby is in Heaven now. This book will help her understand. If she is not saved, the book could aid her in seeing her need for Jesus.

I'm so sorry that your niece is experiencing such grief and loss. The pain she is feeling is somewhat like the pain our Lord must feel when He knows we refuse to respond to His gracious offer of life and salvation in Jesus Christ. His love for us far transcends the best of human love and He truly understands all that we suffer in this life. As King David entrusted the soul of his little baby into the loving hands of God, we believe little children are specially cared for in the presence of the angels of God. Yes, this book can help open the door of understanding and bring comfort to your niece and I hope her pain will be lessened as she learns to trust God.

She will find that her child is in heaven and if she has committed her life to Christ at the time of her death, she will see and know her child when she arrives in heaven. Her niece will learn that Heaven is real and, if it is real, then so is hell and she will have to make a choice as to her destination.

Yes this book would be wonderful because it talks about heaven and the children in heaven and how much Jesus loves the little children. I gave me peace over my own miscarriage and now I can't wait to be reunited with him or her and all the other little ones that didn't get to grow old on earth. Another book that will help is The Shack. That book changed me life and everyone elses that I have given it to.

Question

Would this book be able to understand by a 7 yr old?

I'm thinking of buying a book for my niece for Easter and I'm wondering if an advanced reader who is a believer would be able to understand this book...is it children vocabulary or rewritten from an adults perspective and editing?

A very advanced 7 yr old could read it. The book is very readable and understandable. It is not a child's vocabulary, but it is easy to understand. There may be a few words or things she doesn't understand, but she could always ask questions about those parts! After all, 7 yr olds are great at asking questions!

I would say it was rewritten by an adults perspective. There are also some parts that might be to mature for a 7 year old to understand or maybe even more than they need to know. I guess it all depends on how mature the 7 year old is and how much they can take in such sad situations. As her aunt, maybe you should read it first...the chapters are really short and the book can literally be read in one day. Hope this info was helpful. God bless and Happy Easter.

Absolutely - the beauty of the story is that the imagery in Heaven is told by a four-year-old who saw it so your 7 year old should have no trouble with it.
