answer 1
The key for young people to catch any kind of spiritual teaching is for the teacher to be able to dialogue with them.
If the teacher masters the material enough to able to create scenarios or ask questions, I believe the High School group will benefit greatly. Everyone wants to know that their faith makes sense. This DVD clearly shows that belief in a caring, active God is the only logical way to live.

This material is probably best for late high-school/college age students. This is an intellectual approach to the question about the existence of God. Although the format is engaging and contemporary, students who are not thinkers or readers may find it going over their heads.

I think it is very engaging, but at the same time can be information overload. I'm using it with just a few students who are very mature theologically as well as having some exposure already to scientific apologetics. We've just finished the fourth session (which is actually Lesson 3 plus intro lesson) and there has been a couple of comments from kids and the few adult sit-ins that they were a bit overwhelmed by the info, but enjoyed the teaching. Maybe split each lesson into two sessions. With my class, I tried to boil it down to a main take home point or two (like what are the views of the different worldviews presented, what does a point of singularity mean/finite beginning, why does a finite beginning infer a designer) without getting too bogged down with all of the details of the various theories. Please note my review which explains that this series is taught from a not at first obvious old earth creationists view. That may not be a problem for you, but required some big explanations for my class when I figured it out. I think that for the money, it's worth exposing them to these very big ideas that they are not going to get at school, home, or most times not even at church. I do prefer the Answers in Genesis materials, of course, but for unchurched kids, this is probably the best introduction to a theistic worldview.

I believe that all youth should be exposed to this. I also believe the Truth Project would be a great way to overcome the culture for youth.

My church used it with their youth group and 70% of them are unchurched. They made it through the whole series but had lots of activity and discussion. I think it has a lot to with with how you present it. You might be surprised what they take away with them. This may the the only chance they ever get exposed to the idea of intelligent design. Our youth deserve to hear the truth because their text books arent going to tell them.
