It happens - in preparation for a missions trip we can concentrate more on what we're going to do than on how we're going to do it. Our plan might not be God's plan, and finding out God's plan for the mission trip can insure that we do whatever we do in the right spirit. We need to realize that those on the mission field are human beings, not just 'them', and we need to understand that keenly. Focusing on the Gospel is the key in preparing for the trip, whether it stays on course or if it veers wildly off what we have set as the itinerary. Embracing the idea of being ambassadors for Christ in the missions field and bringing the Gospel to unreached people should be our goals, not simply following checklists or sticking to a rote game plan. Mission Trips That Matter addresses the whole person, providing resources as well for the short-term missions-minded Christian.
